People unfamiliar with Missouri's forests risk making serious errors when they estimate the amount of biomass potentially available for a wood energy project. MU foresters and GIS specialists have developed an efficient spatial analysis tool to assist project planners 'see' how woody biomass from forest thinnings is spatially distributed within a designated supply basin and allow the user to investigate several 'what if' scenarios.
Attention
This woody biomass assessment tool is for initial planning purposes only! See the documentation to learn what information the tool will and will not provide. The documentation is also available on the 'Documentation' tab from within the application itself.
N.B. The Missouri Woody BioMass Assessment Tool is a large Flash application. We recommend using it with high speed Internet connection. The application will run over low speed connections but the delay my be intollerable.
